According to Khaleej Times, “The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention announced that the total number of Covid-19 infections cases is 38,268, recoveries 21,061 and 275 deaths in the country.
With more recoveries than new cases, the number of active cases in the UAE has declined over the last two days and now stands at 16,932. The country’s intense focus on testing early, protecting the vulnerable and treating comprehensively has led to a healthy recovery rate of 55 per cent compared with the global average of 48 per cent.”
Although there is no lockdown during the day, most of the organizations have asked their employees to continue to work-from-home with only a skeleton presence in the offices. The nation-wide sanitization program is still ongoing between 10:00 pm to 6:00 am during which time all are expected to stay at home.
The situation among the believers
We have few believers who have been affected with Covid; Some were critical but our Lord has delivered them. This far we have heard of no fatalities; Praise be to God for His mercies.
Since April we haven’t been able to gather as a congregation in the church due to the lockdown. We still do not have permission to gather; however, our Bible Study, Prayer Meetings and the Remembrance Meetings continue via Zoom in the meantime.
I don’t think we have ever valued our fellowship as much as we do now; From what I hear and see, most of us are being repentant on having spent our time, money and energy on worldly pursuits. During these fearful times there is a spiritual revival amongst us.
Prayer requests
Please pray that God will heal the nations; that He will give the needed wisdom to the Research Teams to come with a vaccination against the virus. Let us continue to remember our believers and health workers who are in the front-line treating patients.
Due to the economic situation, many of us here have had our pay cuts, we are put on un-paid leave and some of us have been made redundant. Please pray that God will open a way and provide jobs and resources to sustain us and our families.
Also pray that we will be able to gather as a congregation without fear and that we will be able to worship God with a new vigour, a new heart and a renewed resolve.
Let God “Give us all a new heart and put a new spirit within us.”
