We are glad to report that until today we have been able to help 465 families in remote villages and migrant workers in the city through the dry ration distribution along with the government association. We are shocked to see the dire situation of many of them because of no earning in their homes. They all live on daily earning and with lockdown and no job for them they are in absolute poverty. It is the same situation with the thousands of drivers of auto rickshaws or taxis in the city and in villages. The number of incidents of domestic violence is increasing in the country and in the state and in such crisis we consider it an opportunity to show the love of the Lord to the people.
We also thank all those who have generously contributed to the Covid-19 Relief for the Poor Project which has enabled us to continue this work. We hope and pray that in the coming weeks and months we will be able to reach out to thousands with help at this time of crisis.
One of the greatest joys in this distribution is that since we are doing this along with the government association, nobody knows who we are or about CMCT, but we know that God knows who lend to Him and who was blessed through this work which reminds me of the beautiful verse in Proverbs 19: 18 “He who is kind to the poor, lends to the Lord and He will reward him for what he has done”.
This has also now opened up partnering with a Lutheran Church and with another service organization, Christian Institute of Management, and through their support we have been able to distribute another 350 bags of dry rations for the poor and needy.
