25 days after the first case of Covid-19 in Chile, March 28, a total of 1909 cases are counted of which 81 are hospitalized, 47 are mechanically ventilated and 6 have died. What is worrying is that the number of sick people per million amounts to 106, well above neighbouring countries (Argentina 16, Peru 20). Classes in educational establishments have already been suspended for two weeks and will be for at least one more month, although the authorities have not decreed total quarantine, there are some places that have done so and have installed health barriers.
Thank God we have not known cases of sick brothers, but all meetings in the churches have been suspended and many have been organized to have them in virtual form (Zoom). With regard to the ministry, even though the children of our school are not in class, we are in contact with them recording devotionals on video and uploading them to our YouTube channel and Facebook page (Christian School Sowers). So we continue working every day in the mornings at school and in the evenings at home, along with this we are thinking of implementing an online radio to have another channel of communication with students and their families.
We ask for your prayers that the authorities will make the right decisions regarding the next steps to be taken, so that this threat becomes an opportunity to preach the gospel and for the brethren who are being affected by their source of work.
